PlaStix
Looking good, nice progress. The turrets looks nice on OD as well the nicely painted tools and weapons. Looking at your drilled out gun barrels, i am in dire need of a smaller drill. Its a nice touch. Will have a look on your Spitfires. Have a great Sunday. We have started ( too late, as every year) with the garden, a perfect solution to torpedo the own fine motivity ( hope thats the right word ) Got also something very nice for my stash, will introduce it very soon. Hi Bernd. Thank you. It definitely is worth having a set of micro-drills - I use mine for a variety of jobs and machine guns/other guns look far better drilled out. I'm putting off doing the garden at the moment - looks like rain - that's my excuse anyway! Hope you have a good weekend. That's a long barrel Well done with that all the small things looks great Cheers It is!! Thank you Pawel.I've been having a miserable time with the new Flickr - it's a nightmare!! I can't access the BBCode on my IPad for some reason so I've had to resort to a laptop - but even on there it's a poor experience! Oh well. Some progress photos (I hope - depends if these work!!!). More parts attached, black camo pattern applied with a stippling brush and some weathering started: Some of the smaller parts that are still to be fitted after the decals are on and the weathering done: Comments and suggestions welcome. Kind regards, Stix
BerndM
That looks great, the tank looks way better with some areas in black, brings more "live" in.The painted and dry brushed tool look great as well. This will be another masterpiece, on par with your Tiger. Have a great Saturday ! Hope to have some time on my bench, this afternoon

BerndM
Noted a few days ago, that some of the Flickr pix in my M4A1 are gone, switched back for Photobucked, risking again to run out of bandwith or something like that
PlaStix
Thank you for your comments and suggestions Bernd and Pawel. I do have a Photobucket account but I regularly ran out of bandwidth. Flickr was brilliant up until this latest poor upgrade. I'm having to do this on a PC - at the moment there won't be any updates at weekends until some changes are made with regards the interface on iPad. I have done more on this project but I got a bit carried away and didn't take any photos until the evening when it was a bit too dark for any decent images. So these 3 are about the only usable ones - On its own: With my other 1/48 build for this GB: If these kits are accurate there was an interesting difference in size! Most assembly is now done, some weathering on, including some mud! Somemore weathering and detailing still to do but that will be next week. I'll try and get some better photos done at the weekend too. Comments and suggestions welcome. Top job my friend! your colection is growing cheers Hi Bernd, Nigel, Cookenbacher and Pawel. Thank you all for your too kind comments. It's still in the state it was before (i.e. not finished) but I ended up messing around taking some photos anyway: I'm hoping to get this finished this weekend including making some figures and painting them. BerndM
Your Sherman is a beauty, it looks great, the mud looks really convincing and give this build a realistic touch. Well done !
PlaStix
Thank you Bernd - you are very kind. Well this is pretty much finished so I've posted some photos in the gallery which can be seen here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234975250-gallery/?p=1989676 I've finished the weathering, added an aerial and a couple of Tamiya figures. A few of some extra photos to those in the gallery: It was a really fun build and thank you to everyone who stopped by to offer advice and encouragement. It's what makes being on Britmodeller really worthwhile. I still intend to make a base but, with five bases to build, I'm not sure I'll get them all done before the end of this GB. The base in the photos here is just my Spitfire display shelf with some grass mat on top. Comments and suggestions welcome. PlaStix
I was really hoping to have all the bases complete for my tanks by the end of the GB but it wasn't to be. This was of the bases I didn't get completed. I've included a few photos below of where it's currently at. I still want to add some more foliage and I've got three US soldiers almost complete which I will add at some point. The light wasn't too great by the time I got around to taking these on Sunday evening but they show some of the details: And a general view: Comments and suggestions welcome.
