King Tiger No.333
PzKpfw SdKfz 182 Ausf.B
S.Pz.Abt.501 - Ohrdruf Proving Ground, Germany 1944

Kit: 1/72 Dragon Armor Pro Series King Tiger - Henschel Turret w/Zimmerit

The only things I added to what comes in the box are the cable for the front light and the brackets that secure the front fenders to the side skirt armour.

Paints are all Humbrol and Revell applied by hairy sticks.

WIP - http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234975275-dragon-172-king-tiger-henschel-turret-wzimmerit-update-140315-finished/

And one photo from the mini-diorama on the base I have finally completed (27/05/15):

The base seen in the first 3 photos is just my Spitfire display shelf background with Gaugemaster Meadow mat on the shelf. (Thanks to JackG for the idea for the grass mat).

To what's in the box I have added spare track links on the turret (links kindly donated by Sgt.Squarehead for my D-Day Tiger 1 build) tow cables (made from twisted wire) and the turret machine gun from the spares box. Tiger 1 No.2

Pz.Kpfw.IV

Sd.Kfd.181 Ausf.H Tiger 1 (late production)

SPz.Abt.506

1944

Kit: 1/48 Skybow Tiger 1 w/Zimmerit

The WIP for this tank can be found here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234975474-skybow-148-tiger-1-late-production-wzimmerit-update-060415-almost-finished/

This was my first 1/48 tank build and it was great fun. To what's in the box I have added Skybow's individual track links and some Hauler grills plus an arial made from a paint brush bristle. It's a really nicely detailed kit with very little/no flash and parts which fit together well.

It's all painted with Humbrol and Revell acrylics applied by hairy sticks and I've actually used some Mig Mud in places - another first for me - but I'll definitely use it again in the future. As with my other completed builds the intention is, at some point before this GB ends, to make a diorama base but, seeing how the GB is about the tanks themselves, I might as well get some photos here in the gallery:

New photo with the Tiger on it's base:

There was also going to be three figures but I ran out of time.

Sherman M4A3 (76)W No. 711

Kit: Hobby Boss 1/48 U.S. M4A3 (76)W

Pretty much OOB apart from the aerial and a couple of figures from Tamiya. It's a great value kit with lots of detail and lots of left over parts, including a turret! There are a few accuracy issues but I only corrected the very easy ones! This was only my second 1/48 AFV kit and my first Sherman tank and it will not be my last!

Paints are all Humbrol and Revell applied by hairy sticks. The mud is by Mig.

The base seen here is not the actual base for the kit just my Spitfire display shelf with some grass mat on it. I still intend to make a baseboard at some point and, if I get it done in time, I'll replace a couple of photos here.

Panzer II

Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.G

Kit: Tamiya 1/35 Panzer Kampfwagen II Ausf. F/G

This is my first 1/35 AFV kit and my fifth and final kit for this GB. It's quite a nicely detailed kit for saying how old the moulds are and the fit is pretty good. It is OOB including the tank crew figure. The kit also includes 4 soldier figures which I have yet to finish. As with all my other tank builds for this GB the intention is to make a baseboard for it, although I'm not certain I'll get all the boards done before the end of the GB.

Paints are all Humbrol and Revell acrylics applied with hairy sticks.

The WIP can be found here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234979813-another-135-tamiya-panzer-kampfwagen-ii-ausf-fg-update-180515/
