timmah
Hi For my second entry, I chose the 1:72 Revell P-47D Thunderbolt. The box shot: The sprue shot: The decals I will be using: I will be adding Eduard Super Fabric seatbelts to this model with the other set going into the P-40B I'm doing. I also purchased the Model Masters barrels as the moulded in the wing kit ones don't look great, whilst I think the MM are great I also think that in 1:72 I could have got away with just using some Albion Alloys tubing cut to length instead...... Opening the sprue bag, it appears that the kit is a bit of a flash monster so there will be a few area's that need a good clean up before assembly starts. More progress soon....... Regards Tim.
Col.
Interesting choice of subject Tim. Wasn't aware Nicaragua used P-47s or dressed them in such a variety of roundels.
modelling minion
Great choice of subject Tim. As you say the Nicaraguan markings have changed a bit over the years, especially with change to and from the Fuerza Aerea Sandinista. I look forward to seeing your work. Craig. CliffB
Another interesting choice Tim and great that we're getting two styles of roundel on the same aircraft (if I've read that correctly!) Cliff
mungo1974
They had interesting selection of aircraft during this era Thunderbolts,Mustangs,Lightnings,Havocs,Invaders. I would have done a P-38L if i had of kept this country for myself.....however real life got in the way and i had to put it back in the pot. Glad to see Tim picked it up and i look forward to seeing his F-47D
