Alan 47
I bought the Aifix 1/48 mosquito pr xvi kit and I was very surprised to see nearly two full kits inside so I had a look at all the parts and decided to have a bit of fun with it instead of sticking to the instruction I decided on one of the mossies from 633 squadron not a great film but it has real mossies in it so that makes it awsome 😃
Paul J
Like it! Agree about the film but at the time it came out it was great! As you say, real Mossies in it so worth watching for them alone.
Raven Morpheus
Nice Mossie. I'm working on an Airfix one myself in 1/72. BTW 633 is said to have "inspired" the Death Star attack in Star Wars... Edited January 8, 2015 by Raven Morpheus
Darby
What about a 633 Boston next? They were modified in the book. Books are always better than the films but books don't have great theme tunes. Nice to see someone having fun. It's always good to have some fun when modelling; that's my theory at least

Pete in Lincs
I once built an Italeri B 25 as the Mitchell that appears in 633 Sqn.

rivers3162
Very nice build! I watched 633 Squadron for he first time over Christmas and was impressed by the aircraft more than the film itself.

Pete in Lincs
If you now go and buy the old Monogram mosquito, (The box art shows it over a marshalling yard) you can throw away most of it as it is laughable, and use those spare Airfix bits to build a decent one. I did it years ago. Probably still not totally accurate but it did look more like a Mossie than the Monogram kit. The only difficult bit was scratchbuilding the lower section of wing inboard of the engines. No pictures I'm afraid, and it now lives in Australia. Pete in Lincs
I still think they were smoking something when they designed the moulds in the 60's. Either that or they were in training to go and work at Trumpeter.
PlaStix
Loved the film when I was a kid - one of my all time favourites. Great idea for a build and it looks brilliant! Well done.
