TheStig
Kit manufacturer: HobbybossScale: 1/48Type: P40m WarhawkExtras used: Quickboost wheels, decalsPaints used: Tamiya and Vallejo Recently finished this one just after xmas. Very basic kit, gear doors are even moulded to the wing! Certainly one to do to get your mojo back! disapointed you cant have the canopy open (unless you cut it) This resulted in some of the wash going behind the rear side glass behind the cockpit, which was challenging to remove to say the least! Happy with how it come out. Will certainly be building a more detailed version, anyone know what is the best one in 48th? Leonl
A very nice example. Shame about the wash, I normally leave canopies off until everything else is done for such reason. The P40 really suits the desert camo....
Spitfire31
You've managed to make a very convincing model in spite of the kit's apparent simplicity. Really good work. And when looking at it, I hear echoes of Derek Robinson's excellent novel 'A Good Clean Fight'. Kind regards, Joachim
Dave Wilson
Looks like a P40 to me, simple kit or not. Damn fine work.
Troy Smith
Will certainly be building a more detailed version, anyone know what is the best one in 48th? For the E - N models, Hasegawa. They did the whole family except the Merlin Powered F and L models. The Hase kits are not in catalog at the moment, and the decals on older boxings are noted for having 'ivory whites' and the K boxing is hard to find here. The Italeri kits, E/K and M/N are reboxes of the AMT/ERTL kits, I think the Italeri E/K kit, which is next best I think. A check at Hannants only list the Italeri E/K kit. This should give you some pointers, look up some builds /review for more info HTH T
