P40E U.S. 8th.A.A.F.

This is the subject of my build , P40E 41-35934, ex-RAF ET580 being one of two the Eighth had both with the VIII Bomb Command HQ Flight,


This aircraft crashed on the 9th Oct 1943 killing the pilot Major Glenn E Hagenbuch.

Awesome internal detail work - I remember reading Lopez's Into the Teeth of a Tiger when I was young, and he talked about filing up that rear compartment with cargo on return from R&R. He had enough stuff that it changed the center of gravity and he had quite a time taking off and flying back to base.

I made this kit a while back and you may already know this but carrying on from dazdots post above and if your not using a resin one the cockpit floor is to narrow for the fuselage as is the rear bulkhead. The engine panels were ok if you glue and clamp them a bit at a time.

That's looking really nice Les

What paint did you use for the cockpit green, looks really good

Hi Skids , White Ensign colourcoats WW2N/USAAF Interior Green , I like it ,its enamel but gose on really well .

That resin fits well les. This is coming on really nicely

well it`s meant for the Hasegawa kit so l was surprised , now time to put the wings on and they don`t fit lol
