The Czech ennemy brothers syndrom. After the AH-1 Cobra, Arado Ar-96/Avia C-2, Grunau Baby GB-II... Sigh.

The Air Training Corps had a large number  of the old Slingsby T.7 Cadet wings and more spare sets of wings(square wingtips)from Cadet Mk.1s at  Slingsbys, Kirbymoorside, following conversion of the aircraft to Tutors with the new tapered wings around 1950. Tail units were taken from the old Cadets  hence why new build Slingsby Grasshoppers have the distinctive  triangular tailplane  and Cadet  fin/rudder.  Grasshopper serials delivered to the Air Training Corps 1952-53. WZ753-798,WZ817-832  62 a/c   XA225-XA244  20 a/c  and XK788-790,XK819-824  9 a/c  total 91 aircraft. First flew 1951.

The kit is great but if you want to build a Slingsby T.38 Grasshopper  you will require new tail units  which can be easily made from plasticard.

Looking at early photographs of Eon (Elliots of Newbury) built  Etons the civil registered appear to have the original SG-38 tail surfaces. 10 machines were built for  the Air Training Corps  WP262-271 and these retain the rectangular tailplane as in the kit and SG38 fin/rudder. First flight of the Eton in February 1948.
