Homebee Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 (edited) Zvezda is to release in 2015 a 1/144th Ilyushin Il-76MD "Candid" kit - ref.7011 Source: http://scalemodels.ru/news/8359-katalog-zvezda-2015.html V.P. Edited December 3, 2018 by Homebee 2
Mark Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 OK, I'm up for one! Zvezda, the new top choice in 1/144th airliners! 2
PMG Offramp Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I absolutely love the Tubaer, sorry, the Trumpeter kit however the latest releases I checked in hobby shops indicate that the moulds are not ageing well. The A320 slats & flaps were very nice. On the IL-62, they even managed to improve the recipe, spectacular. Just imagine in this Candid baby ? Should be in for something really special ! As much as I loved Revell 1/144 kits, I think Zvezda took the lead right from their very 1st airliner kit, the IL-86. The 787 wasn't as good as the others but all in all the detailing, accuracy & quality through the whole range is very constant, & imho above Revell.
general melchett Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 True, if their recent offerings are anything to go by this should be well worth getting hold of. Hopefully other versions including the Beriev A-50 will come along at some point too.... 1
bentwaters81tfw Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Oh Goody. I do like them, although 1/144 isn't my preferred scale.
upnorth Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Wish I had room for a beasty like that in my flat. I'd seriously like to do it up in the spiffy green and white scheme that a Turkmenistan one was wearing when it passed through my local airport earlier this year.
Col. Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Seems Airfix will not be the only model manufacturers getting some of my money next year 1
mark73 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 What does "Ultimate Kit" mean in the description?...very interesting subject, would look well next to the A400M from revell
GreenDragon Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) Judging by the A320 and Il62 it should mean you get dropped flaps/slats, cockpit detail and loaded & unloaded landing gear. Hopefully they'll include a full interior and open rear doors. Paul Harrison Edited December 31, 2014 by GreenDragon 1

Caution Wake Turbulence Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 This appears to be conspicuously absent from the print edition of the 2015 catalogue. Error or cancellation, I wonder? Andrew
sofiane1718 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Hello! Someone asked them on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Zvezda.ModelKits/posts/535233206579488 Last comment: "It's alive, it's ALIVe! We will release it this year, absolutely." 2
MartinSK Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I have trumpeter kit, it is nice except engines...too simple and not right shape. It will be nice to see one day ultimate Ruslan from Zvezda with dropped flaps...
Radleigh Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I have trumpeter kit, it is nice except engines...too simple and not right shape. It will be nice to see one day ultimate Ruslan from Zvezda with dropped flaps... Candid, but I agree I cant wait either!
exdraken Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 interesting, definitely worth a second thought!
MartinSK Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Will be great to see Zvezda ultimate edition of the Candid (hope it will be in 2016)and then in the future Ruslan too
PMG Offramp Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I can picture how incredible this Candid will be, plus if you imagine all the special versions that can be quite easily made from, we're in for a feast ! That's just my opinion but Zvezda should later consider the Mriya instead of the Ruslan, AFAIK the An-225 has never been kitted before and the An-124 is still easily available from Revell (beautiful kit). Anyway, I like that brand so much (I just got their 1/48 Pe-2, absurdly amazing kit) they could tool a 1/450 glider I would still be happy. 1

general melchett Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 That's a shame, still these thing happen. I wonder how far along they got with it and whether or not someone else could take it on ?
Pin Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 It is in 2016 catalogue, as I understand a lot of efforts and funds have been spent on the kit already. Let's hope it is just postponed.
sofiane1718 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Indeed, it's in 2016 catalogue, so no cancellation...
Flankerman Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 I have been in correspondence with the Il-76 CAD designer at Zvezda - and to quote from his email..... "The project of IL-76 is in the works." So - not cancelled - just fitting it in with his other work. Ken 1
