sofiane1718 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Hello! Here are some new pics: Very nice détails here... 2
pinky coffeeboat Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Wow, look at the finesse of the engraving!! Another top notch Zvezda kit. Definitely on my wants list. Thanks Jeff
Stephen Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Mine arrived from Hannants this morning, it is a seriously big box.
pinky coffeeboat Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 (edited) ^ mine arrived from Hannants this morning too. It's a really nice model and one I've been looking forward to since its announcement. It will require some serious bench clearing to build this - it's amazing how huge it is! Stephen Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Will the 26Decals for BA 777-200/300 fit on it?
pinky coffeeboat Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Not sure, the only areas to watch are the tail (lay one half of the fuselage with rudder taped in place over the decal to check for fit) and the size of the fuselage titles (not sure if they're longer for the longer fuselage -300 but doubt it, check the usual photo sites). My first one will be Cathay Pacific; old or new colours haven't decided yet. The engines are huge!!
Madhatter Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I just bought one of these last night as a Christmas pressies to myself along with FDCAL decals for an ANZ bird. I wanted the Smaug decals but they only come in 1/200 unfortunately One thing I have noticed about the rear landing gear is the missing brace for the hydro/brake lines that are very prominent n the real thing in the pics I've seen online. Not that this is a major issue - should easy enough to scratch one up and it's certainly not a criticism by any shot. So can't wait to get this one in the mail. Has anyone actually built this kit yet? I haven't found one online as yet and I'd love to know what it's like
pinky coffeeboat Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Yeah noticed that too and as you say it's not a problem just a few moments with some plastic rod. The build I would imagine will be trouble free. Zvezda fit is usually extremely good. Jeff
stringbag Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I know someone that has recently received their copy of this one so no doubt you will be able to see the finished article in the RFI section within a few days. Can't say who it is yet in case he launches his long-ship and sails down the Dee estuary.on another pillaging sortie. (He's too old for the other) Still, I'm safe for the moment while the bad weather persists. He won't risk his helmet getting rusty and the horn dropping off in due to the frost. Chris.
Viking Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I know someone that has recently received their copy of this one. Yep, Got it this morning. It is huge! The model that is, not the; helmet getting rusty and the horn dropping off in due to the frost. Nicely moulded kit, but without the gimmicks like cockpit interior or separate flaps. I've got Draw Decals 'Etihad' scheme for it, spent lots of time onboard with Etihad this year, 16 long haul sectors, might start it soon, Cheers John
stringbag Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 might start it soon,John You mean you haven't started it yet?
