Wez
Loosely an aircraft engineer, what with waving your magic wand and changing the odd black box. Jabba, I don't want to have to bitch slap you this close to Christmas but... Oh no, do we have "crystal crackers" here? there should be a warning about that sort of thing ...no, I'm a Nasty (not a Comms or Radar mystic), able to read, write and count as well as being able to see in primary colours! I had to know the proper name for things so I could write it up in the book, after that I'd draw pictures in simple shapes so that the Heavies could go out and foo-foo things! Back to Beaufighter's, Steve, does your Beau have those fairings, if so, what do they cover? Regards Wez Edited December 23, 2014 by Wez
NAVY870
Wez, no sign of them on our bird. First thing I checked.
Seahawk
Hasegawa did release a mk 1 Beaufighter as a nightfighter. I've got one somewhere. Yes. IIRC notable for having decent white metal hedgehog exhausts to replace the pathetic plastic apologies for them which were in all the other boxings. Never did track one down. Dave Fleming
Did the beau mk x ever have machine guns in the wings? Don't think so.
The wooksta V2.0
The last production ones did, according to the Franks' Datafile, as they had the wing from the MK XI. Although they also have the thimble nose and fin strake.

rob85
Knew it, bought and built the old kit about two months ago and now they release the new tool! Best 5.60 I ever spent! Can't wait for more information on this, and like gruffy it's bang on wedding anniversary time so I won't have to pay. Let the hint dropping comence. Actually the whole range of new releases are pretty appealing anyone for a Shackleton.... Rob
Rabbit Leader
It will be so nice to not see the words BEAUFIGHTER in any of the 2016 wish lists.. Unless we ask for a Mk.XXI of course!! Another one to join the 2015 stash list - possibly 2 x ticks on this one. Cheers.. Dave.
wellsprop
Very tempted to make a mini diorama out of the new Beau... Stick a couple motors in the engines and have it flying low level over water Ben

IIRC notable for having decent white metal hedgehog exhausts to replace the pathetic plastic apologies for them which were in all the other boxings. Never did track one down. I have three different Hase Beau boxings, a VI, X, and 21, and they all have hedgehog exhausts in white metal.

Enzo the Magnificent
I don't think we'll see a Beaufort in 2016. 2015 was mostly focused on WW2 aircraft so I think 2016 will be focused on jets. Maybe we'll see the 1/72 Sea Vixen and Javelin. So we'll go for the Beaufort in 2017...

Seahawk
I have three different Hase Beau boxings, a VI, X, and 21, and they all have hedgehog exhausts in white metal. Lucky you and good to know. Think they first appeared in the Mk.I boxing: maybe they were included in later production kits of all marks. It's certainly an expensive omission in my Mk.VI boxings. Must check whether my "Mk.X with 500 lb bombs" (a late release) has them - when I can remember where I put it.
Stew Dapple
So just out of interest, what would be required to make a Mk1f or a Mk1c from this? Flat tailplanes and bump-free cowlings, anything else or could it really be as simple as that? Cheers, Stew
Work In Progress
Different canopy framing, which can be done adequately for my lo-fi purposes with painted decal strip. Some versions have different rear blisters deleting the rear gun. Some examples of the Beaufighter I had spinners.

Julien
This one has never been anywhere near Duxford, nor does it wish to.No problems. There was one being restored at Duxford (an aussie one) I heard it was going elsewhere. Still would be good to get some pictures of your one.
