My fellow modellers, may I present for your entertainment my completed model.

I built the Hasegawa P-40 Eggplane & added a Retro kits pilot.

On Eggs-amination of the kit, it was found to be a little basic so I scratch built & added new details to the cockpit, seat & also the engine cooling flaps on the underside. Artistic licence has also been used in the decaling.

Without further ado, please be upstanding for Capt Sam O'Nella & his Egg-ceptional P-40.

Academy 1/72 P-40E of the 11th FS, USAAF, based in the Aleutian Islands, summer of 1942.

The fuselage modified to accept an AZ/Legato canopy, and spinner and prop were replaced with the Quickboost set.

Curtiss P-40E/ Kittyhawk Mk1A, AK759/ FZ-R of 94 Squadron.

Pilot: Sgt. 'Eddie' Edwards RCAF, Gasr el Arid, Libya, March 1942.

Eddie Edwards was the third highest ranking Ace on the P-40 with 12 kills, and several shared and probables. The red /white checks led the Germans to believe that they were in combat with Polish Curtiss fighters!

Hasegawa 1/72nd scale kit, Sky Models decals, various acrylic materials for the finish.

Reference used, Osprey Aircraft of the Aces No.38: Tomahawk and Kittyhawk Aces of the RAF and Commonwealth.

Here's my Kittyhawk Mk1a in 112 Squadron markings. Kit is Airfix (Arii/Otaki etc...)

Some nice detailing on the kit despite it's age, nicely recessed panel lines, nice riveting etc;

Tomahawk IIA Bomber Defence Training Flight AH899 PB-F

This was fun, with some new methods trialled and plenty learned from the good and bad outcomes.

Hope you enjoy ( phone pics, must work on better options).
