Shane
** TO BE CONFIRMED ** Well someone had to start a thread.... might as well be me! VMA131Marine
Still need a Battle, Hampden, Wellington, Stirling and Halifax. Keep them coming. Shane (someone had to turn it into another damned wish list.....) Battle and a Hercules-powered Halifax are most needed. There are reasonably good modern tool kits for the other three (Hapmden - Valom; Stirling - Italeri; Wellington - Trumpeter). If Airfix does produce a new Whitley, and I don't see what else it could be, this seems to go against their previously stated intent to only kit things they can walk on or around; there isn't a single complete Whitley extant. Gumbie Air Services
How about a few lesser types, Miles Mentor, Magister and Master, Avro Tutor, Airspeed Oxford, DH Hornetmoth. A family of Avro Ansons would also be nice.
Ed Russell
Yeah, a few lesser types - what about a Fokker F.XII, an Armstrong Whitworth Argosy, a Farman Jabiru and a Messerschmitt M.20. To the best of my knowledge there are no state-of-the-art injection kits for any of these, so maybe Airfix might do them (:>) x

Work In Progress
** TO BE CONFIRMED ** Well someone had to start a thread.... might as well be me! Cheer .. Dave. It's already going on with much frothy excitement in the calendar thread, http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234971661-airfix-advent-calender/page-34 and is being widely accepted as a done deal in Rumourmonger here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234972836-airfix-2015-pt-3/ I suppose nothing is impossible but given that there are no reliable drawings, and nothing to copy from in real life, a Whitley would be completely contrary to their declared development policy. So, no, I don't believe it's a Whitley. (I'm saying that purely for those who want one, as nothing is more likely to make it real than me predicting it won't happen) Edited December 21, 2014 by Work In Progress
Aeronut
Could Airfix be reboxing the Fly Whitley?
GreenDragon
As far as I can remember the only other planes with rudders in the middle of the tailplane were Italian from Breda, Caproni etc. Paul Harrison

A family of Avro Ansons would also be nice. Although it would be nice to see Airfix do some of these aircraft (especially the Mentor and Hornet Moth, since I don't know anyone else that makes them), but I don't think they would sell enough to make money from them. Paul A H
If true, the colour me excited! It's interesting that Airfix are releasing a lot of early war types. Perhaps we will get a Hampden at some point. I had the Valom version but decided the transparent parts were beyond me and sold it on.

Rabbit Leader
I had the Valom version but decided the transparent parts were beyond me and sold it on. Great minds think alike... and I made a handy profit on the side as I purchased it at a swap meet for next to nothing!!
Work In Progress
My assessment, which I shall undoubtedly refer back to at enormous length, is that what you see there is a Hampden, not a Whitley.
Work In Progress
No, it's a Hampden.

Rabbit Leader
I'm stating to rethink this one... and it may end up being a Hampden after all.. Not as exciting as a new tooled Whitley, however happy to take a Hampden if it's on offer... Cheers.. Dave who's still hoping for a Whitley. Wez
Personally I'd prefer a Hampden and it is in keeping with them replacing their older kits (assuming it is a new kit and not a reissue).

Armadillos
Going to have to upset everyone and say its a Do17 or maybe 217. Thinking about it 217 could be good with the multiple variants that were produced.
old thumper
I'd be prepared to bet my entire stash that Airfix will NOT be rereleasing any old Frog Whitley in 2015. That would be utterly out of line with how they've been operating recently Shane Yes, I think that Airfix are now committed to building up a reputation of being a quality manufacturer, a Frog re-box would damage the brand name.
