Sepecat Cool Cat Jaguar trio Oh......

What can I say Bill ? They look damn fine to me.

I think you've done a great job - great scratch building and very nice execution... and I learned a few things along the way

Sit back, take a breath - and take a drink. You should be proud of what you have achieved with these kits

I'm already looking forward to the next build - got anything in mind yet ?

That's a great line up and certainly worth all the effort you put in. The T bird is still my favourite. Thank you for such an entertaining and educational thread, it has been a pleasure to follow it.

Well the troica seemed to come to the finish line like a rush of starlings!

I have dribbled over the pictures throughout this thread (but that could be ill-fitting dentures!), have told myself more than once to write down the tips, techniques and wrinkles on how to, and what not, I now have a half a wall full of post it notes.

It has been a pleasure being able to vicariously accompany you and hope that you can feel the satisfaction of a thread well watched.

Onwards and Upminster old chap

Regards

Very nice Bill. Very nice. The old girl looks loverly given the Bill treatment  ET is my favourite - the T-bird is prettier than the single seater - and I likes the wrap around camo scheme the best - and I likes the centre line tank look cos it's a bit less common. But they're all damn fine.....

Like Strickers I have told myself more than once to to write down the tips, techniques and how to's - but I'll contact myself with bugging you with questions as and when I make one.......

Gonna miss this.

Thanks guys, I love ET bestest too but that grey late scheme is quite amazing

Two dissimilar greys that merge on the Jags are quite amazing too, before I started I'd never have believed the upper grey is simply boggo Dark Sea Grey as on nearly every other RAF airframe since the war (WWll, that is)

Some of those Boffins at A&AEE must have wonderful brains for that kind of stuff

As for the T2, yes I might scratch around for one more, that black Cranwell scheme calls out for a proper go dunnit

I'm not happy enough to bung a RFI in on these, so this is it

The canopies and screen clarity have done me in :(

I am pleased with the effects of preshading under the GR3 scheme so I will be using that technique again some times

Hendie mate thanks but I have little in the way of pre planned modelling in mind

Although I do now have a 54 mm horse to consider ;)

Might be time to hail a cab soon...

And so one of those Must-See BM builds comes to an abrupt but lovely end. I have learned all sorts of stuff about the Jaguar (which wouldn't be hard; I knew precious little about it in the first place), and witnessed some imaginative, persevering and all-round excellent modelling.

BZ (as we Naval types would put it; it means "Manoeuvre well executed:, or more commonly 'well done').

Thanks for that undeserved accolade Crisp, as it was I couldn't see much need for showing making the little nose lights behind their cover, fairly basic with Little Cars lenses and TBH quite the hardest thing to do was dollop a bit of PVA to sit 'em in

I learned a lot about home casting from this build, especially riding the shoulders of giants so I could mould holes through the airbrakes

Simply adding a thin skin of sellotape to stop the hole blanks needing cutting off on the outside did a world of good, thanks to Mark and Steve's efforts before me

I wish I could have kept the transparent bits clean :(

That is something else I need to concentrate on if I get any more deep modelling going on

I might just stick to OOB next though

(so I won't be making my Bell 47 yetawhile then) ;)

Lovely trio Bill,

IMHO military jets should be ugly and brutish - The exception being two-seater jags.

I have seen may 1/72 models of Sepecat's finest and few capture that elusive form - These three are very nice indeed!

Nigel.

Thank you Nigel

Much of the success of these builds was down to you mate, now I know how to get resin deep inside the unmentionable crevasses of tiny moulds

You supplying the know how and doc_gn supplying the necessary nozzles

Great stuff guys

Last word on these

Took them to my local club and they endorsed our likes

The T2 won the day's competition and the GR3 came 3rd

which was nice

:thumbsup2:

Congrats Bill. Everyone likes the T-bird. If the club get to seem em in close up Bill - then surely we deserve an RFI thread :)

You could always come to Midland Expo next Sunday Steve

And anyone/everyone else (Drumming up trade for our club event) ;)

But in the interim, if you think it worth it I'll RFI them later today

:)
