Achtung Panzer

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Think I would like to get in on this one. Got a Trumpeter 1/35

KV 1s I have been wanting to have a go at. I'm fairly sure this is not a 'paper project', would anybody be able to confirm this? This is going to be my first proper tank build and my first time using pigments for weathering, so could prove interesting.

Cheers

Andy

Well this might be my opportunity to build the Meng Char 2C I bought last year. Although they never really saw any action in WWII, they were participants and one was captured by the German's and put on display in Berlin as a war trophy.

My original plan for what I was going to build for this GB might be going astray a bit. It turns out the online model shop I'd ordered an Eduard set from, for the kit I'd planned to build, did not to have the set in stock despite claiming to have four on Amazon! Anyway almost a month after waiting for the shop to get one in stock it still hasn't arrived!

So I'm going to try these two -

This one I'm planning to make when I'm not at home:

I'm sticking with 1/72 for this one and with a Dragon kit as I've made two before. It looks good in the box and hopefully it will be a good one to build. It was a little expensive but it was the only one I could find at the time. This one will be built where I don't have access to all my normal equipment so I hope I can do it justice.

I'm also hoping to try my first 1/48 AFV build with this kit:

I know there are a couple of issues with the accuracy in places but, for £11.99, you get a lot of plastic and some PE. I would also like to build a 1/48 Tiger alongside this, possibly for a little diorama, but I'm struggling to get one. Like with the PE set, I did have a suitable AFV Club Tiger on order with a big online retailer but it turned out they didn't have it in stock despite claiming it was. Then they claimed they could get one from their supplier but actually couldn't. I shall have to try to get one in the new year.

I hope the two above are okay?

Kind regards,

Stix

Hellllloooooooooooooooooooo chaps

Compliments of the season, im back off my holidays...

Looks like theres going to be some nice models coming out of this GB...

My Initial choice was something Japanesy, or possibly one of the Hungarian jobbies.... (just to be different)

But if i cant find something suitably different, then ill stick with the Bronco A34 Comet with the Legends upgrade set.

Morning Chaps :bye:

Ok, so we have a little over a month to go before the kick off of the GB, so can we start getting a list together of Participants and what you'd like to build.

I'll go through all the posts and make up a list of what we have so far, but if you havent given your build choice and confirmation you will be participating, could you just let us know...

Dont worry, your build choices are not cast in stone, if you change your mind its no biggie, Mine will proably change at least half a dozen times. :coolio:

Thanks

Steve

Hi, and morning to you too Steve, :bye:

To save you looking for mine; :book:

I intend to try to build the Airfix 1/32 Rommel's Halftrack - thats the positive one.

If I get the time I'll also build an Academy 1/35 M18 Hellcat or maybe a Tamiya 1/35 Grant - not sure which to do.
