Rick Brown
Ah. Think I've found it stored in Stafford. Rick.
Edgar
"Wrecks & Relics" has it listed with Kennet Aviation, at North Weald, having moved there in September last year.
Dave Fleming
Was 'given' to Kennet as payment for their recovery from the desert of the Kittyhawk

Max Headroom
Ah, any idea's for its future? Rick. I'm guessing that it was a swap with the Egyptians as they operated 22 or 24'shttp://www.thescale.info/news/uploads/egyptian22_3.jpg I've nothing to back this up but this would be logical. Maybe Kennett are refurbing it now? As to the P-40 there is nothing I can see beyond November last year saying it was saved and in a hangar. Whether that was in Egypt or here I don't know. However, did RAFM own the Spit and was it only on loan to the Science Museum? Trevor
Rick Brown
Hmm, the plot thickens. Anyone else with info? Rick.
Dave Fleming
The P-40 is/was in a container in Cairo awaiting export (Permissions and the political situation). Kennet recovered it on behalf of RAFM, and RAFM have already applied for planning permission to make changes at Hendon to display it (If you search on the local council website you can find it). I would imagine Kennet will be looking to restore/sell the Spitfire
gingerbob
A wee bit more, but also a lot of speculation (and, of course, assumptions of the idiocy of those who make decisions) FlyPast Forum thread bob
Rick Brown
Hmm, guess we'll wait to see what happens. I had an email back from the museum confirming it was an RAFM article and was returned to them in 2008. Rick.
