You're right of course... I think I meant to say "no swastikas of the type seen on most pictures" the white outline ones, but then I zoned out and typed what ended up in the review.

I cannot be taken anywhere without having to go back to apologise - at least it shows you're reading the reviews ;) Edited :)

I've only got the original Navy version Antoine if that's ok? I'll get with it once I've caught up a bit on the current review pile.

BTW just to add what Mike has been saying, the 229 is a fabulous kit, I was well chuffed when my example arrived, even though I had had a sneak preview of Mike's kit when I popped by after Telford.

Was just kidding Dave, but if you have time, yes please, that will just be fine, as I think that there's not so much differences between the two boxes?

In fact, I hesitate between trumpeter and ZM for an A-1J, and maybe you could help.

I think the "white outline" types in the photos are not authentic anyway - they were added by US personnel.

In situ (US Army photo):

In storage at the Smithsonian (note the T2-490 inventory number as well):

I've also read that the wing panels that the NASM are in possession of don't mate very well with this airframe. They were jury-rigged for a base display in 1946, but may not have actually belonged to it (I like the Coke bottle by the front tyre though!):

You're most probably right - the pics show both the Swastikas and stencils in the same or similar shade of white, don't they? :)
