Hard to find if your not in the USA. I am looking for an equivalent for my A340-600 build.
buzz
The 'New York colour' nail polish range colour is known as 'Mulberry Street'. Hard to find if your not in the USA. I am looking for an equivalent for my A340-600 build. Available on amazon UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/N-Y-C-MINUTE-POLISH-MULBERRY-STREET/dp/B004480VOE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417686612&sr=8-1&keywords=new+york+color+mulberry+street That said, I'm not convinced it's right. Seems too pink to me. It will be interesting to see what mix Revell suggest in their forthcoming A320 release.
buzz
I did a search and found this over on Airlinercafe. I haven't tried it. Quote: I have the defenite mix for the paint now, based upon a Herpa 1/400, which is in my opinion very close to the real thing I have the following solution, 1 layer of Humbrol 1 primer. 1 layer of any gloss enamel white. Than a layer of the following mix, 75% of Humbrol 22. + 25% of Xtracolor X321 Saudi tan. 1 layer of Xtracolor X369 MICA 2 tinted pearlescent topcoat. And you should have a stunning Etihad paint scheme! Unquote

Timo
Not an easy colour to reproduce, but I've tried the 'Airliner Cafe' suggested paint mix - without a gloss white 2nd undercoat - and it seems to turn out reasonably close. See the pic of my B77W build compared to an Etihad plane I snapped recently at Dusseldorf. Tim

RocketSurgeon
I was thinking about using a cream/ivory base coat dusted over with Tamiya pearl clear and maybe with a hint of gold. This way I could paint the fuselage without the use of an airbrush. Never got around to try it though.
RICHW
the cream / ivory looks very close i bought a tin o today to test out i am on with making my own decals so i can do the A380 in the new livery i have the tail bits cut out on A4 and roughly test fitted printed some test pieces out on Decal paper Richard
RocketSurgeon
Haha... I usually use RAL color matched paints because they are available in spray cans almost everywhere. RAL1015 is the color I was going to use. The standard color for German taxis... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/64/Taxi_-_Mercedes_C-Klasse_T-Modell.jpg The test pieces look great. Timo
Decals are looking great. As far as I'm aware the new Etihad 'Facets of Abu Dhabi' livery has kept the same basic fuselage colour as before - http://www.planespotters.net/Aviation_Photos/photo.show?id=539571. There's also a time lapse of an Etihad A380 being painted (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=890pQyZWzG0) which shows the colour in detail. Your idea to use cream/ivory / RAL1015 as the base colour should be spot on. Best of luck with your builds - keep us posted. Tim
sailorboy61
Looking myself and found this Vallejo Modelair - aged white is supposed to be RAL1015 in usual 17ml bottles. Also available from airbrushsuppliesonline http://www.airbrushsupplyonline.com/buy/lifecolor-germanelfenbein-ral1015-22ml-lc-ua232_2426.htm22ml pot so looks like people are catching up.
flieger
For those hoping to use New York City Color Mulberry Street 212B nail polish, you are out of luck. It isn't sold anywhere because is a colour no longer available.
