Xtradecal prototype P variants

I have just purchased a sheet of the prototype P in circle decals, I had assumed that they were of a standard pattern, but I notice that each pair are slightly different in design.

Did each aircraft manufacturer have their own design on this marking?, I have researched but all I can find is that they should be of equal size to fuselage roundel on the aircraft, no reference to design.

I've just had a flick through some pics and I was surprised just how varied they were!

So it looks as though I need to get picture ref for type and style that relate to the aircraft
