The other thread was locked after a good innings of 107 pages , so here's the next installment.

In truth, aside the usual Ryan Air stuff coming into East Mids, naff all is above my house -aside fog. Can anyone improve on that?

We took a refreshing stroll along Aberavon Beach last Saturday and had the treat of a practice display by a Hawker Hunter over Swansea Bay, as it was a little hazy and she was flying between me and what little sun there was, I couldn't readily identify it although if pushed I think it was in standard RAF camo and possibly a 2 seater.

We do have regular visits from Miss Demeanour when she's prepping for the display season, but I'm sure it wasn't her this time.

In the US, not much interesting, just general aviation aircraft and airliners, with the occasional helicopter. Back home in Hungary, we occasionally had these flying about 20 metres off the ground: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b3/An-2_OK-HFL_EDST_02.jpg

One of the 2 Tornado GR4s with the Dambusters anniversary markings on the fin just fly low right over my house. It would have made a beautiful picture as the sky is absolutely clear with the sun shining. Those markings really stand out, very pleased to have seen it.

Last night around midnight we had a piston engined transport fly over which was following the M62 up the hill towards Yorkshire from the direction of Manchester. It was very low and reminiscent of the old Dakota mailplanes which we used to have coming over as late as the 1990`s,......it did sound like a Dak but I couldn`t identify it as it was pitch black and could only see its lights!

Cheers

Perhaps it was a ghost plane!

Just happened to be reading this forum when I was interrupted by a very loud helicopter noise. I recognised the sound as a Sikorsky S92 of the Coastguard because it's regular visitor to the hospital nearby. It flew directly overhead but was invisible because weather here is rain and drizzle, overcast at 900 feet. Clearly someone is in big trouble somewhere if they've been dragged out in these conditions. They will be earning their salary this afternoon.

Barely had enough time to remove my lens cap, let alone muck about with settings on my camera, but these chappies were plodding along over Telford about midday today...

I never get tired of hearing the Wokka. Two together sounds even better!

We had a Griffin scoot over a couple of hours beforehand, but I didn't manage to get a shot of that. That no-doubt was from Shawbury, but I'm not sure where the Chinooks were heading to/from.

Daryl.

Tornado GR.4, low and fast over MJW Models HQ. I'm pretty sure the tail fin was white with some kind of design on it. What Sqd might it be from?

thanks

Mike

If it had a white tail it could be one the the 41 Sqn special jets, think they have 2 special tails both which are white, and the only other Tonka with a white tail i can think of is the 40 Year special jet

I was working in my office a little late and heard a familiar sound that seemed out of place in downtown Fort Worth Texas. I went outside and discovered this tooling around over the downtown area. Please excuse the pictures, they were done hastily and with a camera phone.

Now why a C-47 in invasion stripes is flying around downtown Fort Worth I have no idea. But I did enjoy the sight.

Living close to Lincoln Im a bit spoilt. Red Arrows regularly practicing, E3 doing its thing, Vulcan shows up now and again along with various WWII stuff, always something going on.

To be honest, the Reds can be a bit annoying on a summers sunday morning - rattling the chimney at 9am just isn't cricket.
