Jockster
Nice progress Kev, I know your device as an engineers clamp. We made them at school and like Rog, we had to case harden ours and then blacken them by heating and quenching in oil!

longshanks
Quick update. having built the sponson I wanted to see how the Vickers K guns looked Started with Coastal Craft guns which I must say are very good Although they come with mounting brackets which are fine I decided to make my own which I feel are more prototypical Cheers Kev Edited October 2, 2018 by longshanks
Gremlin56
The build is teething Love this part when the weaponry starts appearing. I have a couple of these in my spares if you need them. I think I also have two of the "Fat barrel" Lewis guns left from my Vosper orgy over on MSW.
longshanks
" The build is teething " LOL Got the quota I need for the forth coming builds in 1/72 thanks mate but if you've got a spare 1/35 Vickers K gun I would bite your hand off (politely of course). The up and coming 1/35 Vosper I want to do had K guns. Kev

longshanks
Oh wow !! Awesome etc etc ....... I need four for the Vosper but if you could spare one or two I'll get a mate to cast replicas. Where did you get them? Cheers Kev
Al Gunthwaite
Kev I have been trying to ignore this thread. I've been waiting patiently for updates on the Vosper... Anyway, have you seen the 1/72 Dragon Vickers Ks? There are 6 in the SAS jeep. Whilst the Jeep is supposedly 1/72, it scales out nearer 1/76 but the Vickers are 1/72 and are quite neat. longshanks
Sorry Al, bit of burn out on the Vosper. Thought it better to leave it for a bit rather than rush it . . . Don't worry it will be resurrected before long, it keeps shouting at me when I go into the workshop! Thanks for the tip about the K guns but I've got all I need from Coastal Craft and very good they are. An update on D, sorry Al Doesn't seem a lot but there is a fair bit of work there Chart table and furniture added and yes I managed to scratch the side table but they are going to be in and out a few times yet Stbd. sponson made and secured but yet to be cleaned up. Fair bit of work yet in this area, there is a small chart area/box set in/through the bulkhead in front of the sponson. Now can anyone tell me where I've hidden/lost the solder paste Thanks for looking Kev Edited October 2, 2018 by longshanks

longshanks
I was struggling to make the angled frames for the front of the chartroom, so I thought I'd try laminating them. Used 1.09 x .56 plus 1.09 x 0.28mm Hope these pics show my method. first but joined the first layer Then overlaid second layer making sure it covered the joint I'm pleased with the results and its suprising how strong they are Thanks for looking in Kev Edited October 2, 2018 by longshanks
