I will admit that I might, just might get carried away but I do this cos I love modelling I understand entirely. Leave anything open; hatch, door, canopy and people will look in, and as you say, something has got to be there. I don't quite understand the rational of doing complete innards though and then covering it all up, each to their own. Stuart

PS, the smack only gets a ladder for two reasons...laziness and I have no idea what the folks who own her have done in the way of fitting out. One day I'll do one plank on frame and maybe do that cut-away thing n one side - Interiors are an interesting challenge!
Terry1954
Very nice engines there Kev, and I really like the coloured red and green ends to the control levers .... I'm assuming port and starboard! Attention to detail indeed. Great stuff. Terry

longshanks
Didn't realise it had been quite so long since I posted something productive . . . . Been having a fight with the Depth Charge racks and loosing. I've got in my mind what they are going to look like but . . . I've now been taken over by events, I'm in Spain for December (for health reasons i.e. escaping Brexit). Obviously 658 was not going to travel well and I like to do some modelling whilst on holiday so The final diorama is going to look stark without figures and plenty of them - ideal! First of the outlook from my model room and yes that is sunshine. I regret to report that we've been here a week and it's been cloudless and temps in the low 20'C A selection (approx. 20) of figures mostly @Al Gunthwaite (top) with a few Milicast. http://www.milicast.com/shop/home.php?cat=144 I've started with Al's and I'm glad I've met you or I'd have a vision of some demented person at the bottom of a mine laughing insanely as he produces the masters. (See how politically correct I was there 😉 ) Joking aside the figures are beautifully modelled and full of character, I doff my 1/72 hat to you. I started with the flesh tones, mixed here from Vallejo Red Leather, Deep Yellow and White as you see change the ratio for newbie or veteran He are some blocked in Working dress will predominate but the smart boys above will be for the gangway watch. I do have a couple of other small projects with me which may or may not see the light of BM Thanks for stopping by Kev
Al Gunthwaite
Those look very neat! And thank you for the kind comments. I'm not allowed out to modelling shows unless I promise to behave "normally"! Al 1
