Unkempt
I finally bought myself an airbrush after many decades of being a brush-only kind of guy. And what do we get when we're trying something new? A 1/72nd Airfix Spitfire, of course. Which ended up like this: Quite happy with the result (apart from losing the tailwheel somewhere along the way. Oops.)
sunray
Excellent tidy build what beauty. As for the tail wheel I would email Airfix as they are brilliant as sending out replacement parts.

426
Love it. One observation though, I think the undercarriage is on backwards.
Mitch K
Lovely! I've just got one of these and I'll be glad if it's anything like as nice as yours!
Shrimper Spitfire
Great build and nice paint work, I have yet to try the airbrush.
PlaStix
Lovely Spitfire! Well done with the airbrush. As sunray said; Airfix will send out a replacement tailwheel for a small charge. And as 426 mentioned you need swap the undercarriage around. Keep up the good work with that airbrush! Edited November 20, 2014 by PlaStix

Smudge
Nice work on the camouflage scheme. How did you tackle the masking? Always tricky on such a small subject. Welcome to Britmodeller.
mixup_1
Great build mate, lovely little Spit you got there.. as a fellow noob to the airbrush I know how it is. Thanks for sharing!
Unkempt
Thanks guys. The undercarriage - I don't know what's wrong with me, I did exactly the same thing on the 1/48th Seafire 47 I built a couple of years back. I've got some sort of left-right blindness, I swear. Spare parts - I'm in the US at the moment, is this a worldwide thing? Masking - paper cutouts held on by masking tape: Seemed to work pretty well.

Shalako
Nice "clean" job. Though, I think a bit of weathering is necessary.

Val
Excellent model! Airbrushes are great fun, aren't they? Airfix's spare parts service are excellent in the UK at least, I'm sure they'll send parts abroad, it has the option to on the drop down menu. http://www.airfix.com/contact Top work
