Dragon 1:72 Saturn V/Skylab (not a WIP, not likely to be)

Recommended Posts

No, I haven't bought one, but none of the forums seemed right for this post - it's not SF and not RealSpace and I don't have a completed one for inspection.

I won't be buying one either. I went into Wonderland today for some paint and saw they had the pre-assembled model for sale. But a quick inspection left me very disappointed. All Dragon have done is to replace the Apollo spacecraft with the telescope mount and docking and airlock assembly and add the payload shroud. I have to admit that these are rather nice; however everything else is the same as on the manned version - no attempt has been made to convert the S-IVB stage into the Orbital Workshop. It even still has the J-2 engine instead of the octagonal radiator panel as seen on the Airfix kit.

I've been enjoying MartG's posts on how he is accurising (is that a word?) the manned Saturn V. If he has a go at this one then he has his work cut out.
