1/72 Freightdog resin P.1109 "Blue Jay" Hunter conversion set

Freightdog has listed a forthcoming conversion set for the proposed production version of the P.1109 Hawker Hunter on their site. The P.1109 had a lengthened nose for a better radar, and would have carried two Firestreak missiles, known at the time of the proposal by their rainbow code name of Blue Jay.

Should be a fun one for what-iffers; I've already pre-ordered a set myself.

Glad to see you have picked up on my re-release. A little background info, I've re-released it as the 'operational' proposal refered to in documents uncovered at Kew by Paul Lucas dating from early 1956. There was a proposal to procure up to sixty Blue Jay Hunter F.MK.6 from the last production batch, sufficient to equip three squadrons. The documents review the options and potential shortage problems if it had gone ahead, in that there was insufficient production of AI-20, earmaked for Vulcan/Victor tail warning radar, and potential shortage of Blue Jay to equip the EE. P.1 and Saunders Roe P.177 then under development for service entry. For these reasons it did not go ahead.

The set is the same as I did for the P.1109B prototype, except it lacks the straight leading edge parts, as these airframes would have later style dog tooth adopted on the Mk.6. I've included an F.6 tailpipe, so you can use the more easily available Revell FGA.9 base kit.

I don't suppose the documents mentioned which squadrons would have received them, did they?

Yeap, but think of the operational units you could put it too, East of Suez, Hong Kong, places where they wouldn't want to assign the Lightning initially

This conversion set still can be bought somewhere in model shops? Or only from the second hands?

You might try contacting @Colin @ Freightdog Models -- he may have one kicking around. I have a second set that's sort of spare, but I'm honestly not sure that I can send mail to the DPR.

Thanks for your attention to my question!

You are absolutely right when write that it is unknown how it is possible to send this set to the DPR. :(

In spite of the fact that the DPR has own mail (with the stamps) own bank (with the payment cards), this unrecognized state (yes it exactly the state with all attributes of the country inherent in any country which considers itself in a varying degree civilized!) has no official relations with the rest of the world in the form of bank payments, post or transport connection. :(

The desperate situation would seem?

But... but I know one person B) (and this

person well knows me B)) who is at an  in Telford show. He plans to be at an  in Telford show and this year.
(He has certain relation to this firm and their set:

B) )

And I he think won't refuse to buy for me in Telford show this correction set from Colin.

I think it there will be an optimal variant.

But, if for any reasons my friend isn't able to buy this adjustment enrollment from Colin in Telford, (suddenly he will have any more no opportunity to sell and make this correctional set) then I will know whom to address in case of it force-majeure.
