Supercuber
Bought this rarity at local Serbian auction site Limundo, few days ago, just to check my Plasticus Nostalgicus illness state. Courier service delivered it this morning, Box topside, Box underside with well known VEB Plasticart Zcshopau stamp. Kit contents, Parts checking, There is no decals ( which probably would not be usable anyway) and 001/002 Glue/Silver paint are leaked. Lack of decals gives me idea to build this in INTERFLUG (DDR) Livery, which one i build some 30 Yrs ago, so, with some creative work with Corel & airbrushing masks and spare decal stock, this one will be INTERFLUG's DM-SEH machine . OK, actually, this one does not exist, DM-SEH was IL-62m and Plasticart team does it wrong with decals and boxart, but who cares, its Plasticus Nostalgicus treatment. Happy modelling,

jean
Good grief!!! I remember VEB... Looked at a kit once, and ran as fast and far as I could. Our Socialist brothers had the merit to try, but what a masochistic trip as far as I was concerned. Good luck and have fun!!! JR
Kristian
I know that one is not supposed to ask about such things, but you haven't by any chance made any progress on the '154? :-) Would love to see what you have done so far, if you have had the time and motivation.  I retrieved my own kit from the stash a few weeks ago, and now that I have received some beautiful looking Revaro decals ("classic" Aeroflot livery), and found the compressor, there is no turning back, I suppose. I'm going to keep the windows, but the panel "lines" (fences?) must go. I can't say that I'm looking forward to all that rescribing, but it will obviously be worth it in the end.  A question to you experts on Soviet flying machines: If you could help me find the correct shade of grey used by Aeroflot back in the days, I would be very grateful. I feel that the nuance needs to be a pretty exact representation of the real thing if the finished model is going to look right.  Brgds, Kristian

That is, any Tamiya Light Gray primer in any form. Edited March 30, 2017 by Babay
Babay
In addition, "Motip" branded spray paints (aerosol cans) has proven itself among the modelers of Russia in recent years (just decant the required amount of paint).  Here are the paint numbers for Aeroflot Classic livery: Gray - Motip #671 "Lada" (can be slightly lightened to taste) Blue "cheat line" - Motip #420 "Baltika" (can be little bit lightened or darkened, also)  P.S. This is not advertising. Kristian
Brilliant, Babay - thanks! Motip paints are excellent. Too bad it's all Dupli-Color in the hardware stores around here (in Norway) these days.
Ozzyman69
A really nostalgic set. I remember this box also. Good angle of the plane in flight over the Hungarian Parliament and Duna (box topside view).
