This is my winter project, just the trumpeter kit to get;

This is my inspiration

I have had the tiger for a number of years, sat waiting not knowing how to display it. Until I saw Dragons bivouac set, having seen this picture I set about gathering the other kits I needed.

The progress so far

I too will follow with interest. I've only built one 1/72 Tiger but I have to admit I rather like them. Looks like this should be an interesting project.

PlaStix please do, I'm going to do the command variant as the antennas add somthing different. No typhoons in mine, this train is going east.

Did a little on the suspension last night, I cut the sponsons after seeing a 1:48 hull on when the tigers broke free thread. It looked better for access for the road wheels and track.

With my zimmermit not having turned up this week, I'm turning my attention to the bivouac set. I had already built the ponchos, but they look a little thick so will sand them down also the figures I will paint a panzer crew using Tamiya's NATO black as its not as monotone as black can be.

That is the cleanest Tamiya turntable I've ever seen! :o

Great progress.....Watching with interest.

I've only just got the turntable, it won't be black for long.

My zimmermit finally arrived, what a product, it's fantastic, it required a little trimming to fit and its transparent to allow you to still use all the kit holes.

One for the Sgt. A slightly less new looking turntable.

I also found the trumpeter kit in my local model shop for a fantastic price of £33 that's half price.

With the zimmermit applyed I can crack on with the tiger build.

Bravo sir.....Well and truly boken in!

Nice zimmerit too, I've got the Trumpetter zimmeritting tools, but they are a bit coarse for my preferred scale really. That applique looks a geat option for 1/35, but again I wonder how well it would work in 1/72.

Thanks

I've got the AFV club one but not brave enough to use it. The product itself is easy to use and no masking evolved, they also do it in 1:48 I belive, this may be a little better suited? At least if it doent give you the effect your after you can always peel it off.

Spent the weekend building and bending brass. The only anomaly I found was with the exhaust covers being both the same unlike the kits plastic ones. Once I have painted the track I will put it all together.the MG cover was from the initial tiger set dragon do.

Not a lot of modelling this weekend due to a visit to London.

All I have achieved was to secure the tow chains ready for fitting.

Hopefully get some paint on it next week?
