russ c
Hi Everyone, Just completed my Fine Molds 1/48 D4Y2 Suisei (Comet) or Judy Finished in the markings of 523rd kokutai, based at Tinian Island, Northern Marianas, 1944 Built OOB with just aerial wire added Been after one of these at a reasonable price for years and managed finally at the Hinckley Show in March this year Was a bit surprised to find lots of cast metal parts in the box but they hardly needed any clean up and fitted perfectly. Here`s two shots of it with my previous Judy build from the same manufacturer Which was the D4Y4 Radial engined version. Hope you enjoy, thanks for looking Cheers Russ

Mike DeTorrice
Wow, these are absolute gems, Russ ! Superb replicas of two extremely attractive Japanese warplanes. When you see models like this, you think, "The real thing, just a smaller size." Mike

russ c
amazing Russ, realy! how did you do the final surface finish, the dusting and so? it looks great!Cheers Wol`; the final finish is just two lighter shades of green, grey and olive drabs dry brushed and rubbed in with my thumb, followed by some light aluminium scuffing on leading edges and wing roots. With a final coat of Humbrol Matt Cote to bring it all together. If you`re interested I gave a full write up of my weathering technique in my Firefly post some time back, if your interested, it`s easy to find using search. Thanks to all for looking and kind comments

Bordfunker
Lovely looking Judy, such a good looking aircraft in inline form. I built the same kit a few years back and although the detail was excellent is was a bit swine to get everything to fit. You've done a stunning job.
