plasmahal
I built this kit several years ago and then it was consigned to the loft for various reasons. So, as with a couple of my unfinished builds, this one is getting revived. After the model was cleaned up, I primed with Vallejo acrylic polyurethane grey primer. It was given a few days to cure, then i used a dark green tamiya X-5 to pre-shade. I will be aiming for a multiple shaded green colour scheme with some panels picked out in grey and maybe some dark reds.
plasmahal
OK, done a couple of thinned coats of X-28. Pictures didn't come out well, looks better to the eye.

shawty82
Looking good so far can't wait to see it finished. I remember this kit from when i was a kid, one of the few non airfix kits i bought! Took a few weeks of pocket money though :-)
plasmahal
Thanks shawty82. Next is to pick out some panels in different colours (grey) and then detail paint the engines and rear of main hull. Then I can clear coat, decal then look at the weathering. oileanach
Ya beauty! I used to have this one- severely mutilated with hairy stick and lumpy Humbrol grey enamel! I loved it- beautiful kit and one of the best looking ships from the movies. Really looking forward to seeing how this turns out. It looks gorgeous so far, and it's only going to get better!
plasmahal
Thanks for the comments. I've got a lot of masking ahead of me but will be worth it.
