Rabbit Leader
This is good news for those who have waited patiently for the old Esci kit to appear at decent prices on ebay. It is also bad news for those 'horders' out there who have been holding on to said kits and then flogging them off on ebay!! I have to say, I've got two kits and have thought about doing the latter. What has always stopped me from converting these treasures into a wad of cash is the fact that these are very nice kits, with todays standard of detail in a 30 year old kit. I only hope that we are now flooded with AM bits and decals for this sexy little aircraft.. Cheers .. Dave. GreenDragon
Probably have to get one as it's the only version I don't have in an esci box. Bit pricey though! Paul Harrison Edited October 26, 2014 by GreenDragon
sroubos
Does the kit still contain the large flare dispensers and alternative nose wheel to enable you to build this as an NF-5 as used by The Netherlands and later Turkey? I'm not sure if all Esci boxings had these.
Rabbit Leader
Does the kit still contain the large flare dispensers and alternative nose wheel to enable you to build this as an NF-5 as used by The Netherlands and later Turkey? I'm not sure if all Esci boxings had these. I've got both the normal F-5 & Skoshi Tiger/Recon Esci versions at home. I'm pretty sure that both types of nose wheels are included, however I'll take a look and re-send this when I get home. I have not seen the sprue shots for this re-vamped kit, however would be very surprised if the sprues differed in any way from the earlier Esci edition. Cheers .. I'm not sure if all Esci boxings had these. The Skoshi Tiger Esci sprue has all the parts from the original NF-5A box which includes the two nose wheels and all the lumps and bumps. You also get the Recon nose, snake eye bombs and additional fuel tanks. I'm sure you will be able to build your Dutch or Turkish F-5 from this kit. Cheers.. sroubos
Awesome news, thanks for looking. Now if only it came with two canopies, my NF-5 kit has lost it's transparencies somehow. I'll get a couple of these kits in any case.
hacker
Is there not someone doing a 1/32 scale mold injection version of the F-5A?

You mean the Tanmodel 1/32th F-5 Freedom Fighter family project? http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234977393-132-northrop-nf-5ab-freedom-fighter-t-38-talon-by-tanmodel-in-progress-release-in/ As several projects from this company, they're in suspended limbo.
