The first thought crossing my mind was "HotRod DC-8".

Reminds me of a small 4 engined jet prototype build by one of the U.S. companies in the 60s, can't remember what it was called but I think it was in competition with the Lockheed Jetstar. The P.1 is a lot bigger that it looks though - about the size of a Nimrod!

I love the retro paint scheme website,....some real corkers on there and I`m glad that somebody else thinks that this Airbus thingymajig looks like a jazzed up 21st Century Belfast too,....I thought that it was just me!!

As in the case of the Kawasaki P1 me thinks.

It might be a good aircraft but it sure is one ugly looking thing !

Seriously, why lease P-8's? Buy them for goodness sake. Didn't the MoD learn anything from the C-17 example? [irony]
