Isn't a wonderful feeling when you make such a beautiful model out of an old, outdated kit? It's an entirely different feeling than when you pop out a shake and bake kit. You get a huge sense of personal pride with the old kits - congratulations on a superb job!

Hi guys,

I'm chuffed to bits that you've enjoyed the build.

Yes, it was a challenge and if I were to build another (never say never right?) I'd do some things differently.

In the back of my mind is a cock-eyed plan to redo one of these and ask an aftermarket resin company to pop some kits out.

If I do, that will guarantee a mainstream IM kit....

Anhyoo, just idle day-dreaming for now.

I can only echo the sentiments of all the others - It's a great piece of work, all the more enjoyable to watch for the fact that you took a terrible kit and turned it into a gorgeous, accurate mini-replica! Very well done!

And as you now know, so much more satisfying than just assembling a kit.....

For anyone without GW's skills and patience, it may be worth pointing out that the Frog Comet is a much better starting point than the Airfix one. It's nowhere near as easy to come by, of course.

What a lovely photograph! I am always impressed by the many excellent models photographs here on BM, but Geedubelyer this one took my breath away.
