a capri mk2 was also done in 1/25 scale by i think amt, got 3 of them here built, that's why i can't be sure who did them. heller did an early version of the rover sd1 in 1/43, a very crisp moulding i seem to recall. i remember my dad bought me an airfix monty's humber, i was gutted and asked him to change it for something a bit sporty. (nothing changes !) scalecraft in south africa did a nice resin riley elf transkit too.

Ooh, Tamiya did a Group 5 Capri touring car racer in 24th iirc (I don't recall seeing it mentioned).

And Mr Shelby wouldn't have been able to make the Cobra without AC starting it off, so he can just suck it up, peeved or not. ;)

German made (Zackspeed) car very loosely based on a car originally made by Ford Europe though, so don't think it counts!

Stretching the point slightly, the Heller (later also issued by Revell) 1/24 scale BMW Dixi is a LHD licence-built Austin 7.

The Dixi is is not close enough to be a 7, different body, different interior, mirrored engine

That Zakspeed Capri. Yes please.

The Revell Healey. I have the remains of one here

that I built decades ago. It got savaged sometime

over the years.

Are those Finnish 1/24th resin models available in the UK?

Hi Pete

Updated list at the top, including everyone's contributions so far . Thanks, all!

I'm not proposing to include 1/43, and I haven't wandered off down the by-ways of dedicated racing cars, either. If someone wanted to compile a list of Lolas, Cooper Climax's, McLarens etc, that'd be great, but that's not THIS list!

bestest,

M.
