Where did that come from? The Rebell website throws up a 404. I suspect it was published by mistake, maybe too far in advance?

The good news is that the Pilot Replicas website is up again: https://www.pilot-replicas.com/

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the S 29C Tunnan photo recce version and, of course, the SK 60/Saab 105!

Kind regards,

Joachim

Went looking for the kit today. No joy

the engine kit, or the actual J-21 base kit?

Pilot Replicas have been on hiatus for a while,  they had announced a Vampire and Venom and that's all gone quiet.

IIRC, it was posted on here somewhere that the owners have other jobs, and this is a 'hobby' for them,  so not sure of general availability.  Rebell Hobby in Sweden might be worth checking out.

i find it hard to believe the J-21 kit is sold out,  unless they did quite a small run, and if so, it was very well presented, as in proper packaging, full colour box, glossy instructions, though I would have suggested that an accurate Vampire kit would have been a better idea, as it would have a wider appeal than a J-21....

Doing the engine kit maybe a way to get some cash and get the company going again, I presume this is a resin and PE set, which have much lower set up costs than a full kit.

Hopefully some of Swedish members maybe able to shed some more light on what is going on with Pilot Replicas?

I really hope that this is a sign of Pilot Replicas revving up again. In the good old days, the SK 60 in 1:48th was apparently planned and I was looking forward to it, since I've spent some hours in SK 60:s, as a television cameraman. 😉 Also, a continuation of the J 29 'Flygande Tunnan' (Flying Barrel) range was hinted, such as the S 29C photo recce machine, which had an important role for Sweden in the Cold War.

Incidentally, Swedish Air Force type appellations use a space between the category letter and type number, like so: J 29, J 21, SK 60, etc., not "J-21".

Here's hoping for a brilliant future for Pilot Replicas, and for us modellers!

Kind regards,

Joachim

I was looking for the full J 21 kit although the engine kit would be a nice addition to the mix.

Hopefully that engine kit is a portent of fresh activity from Pilot Replicas and your Vampire kit will appear in the near future.

Perhaps your SK 60 will come through as well in the future. In the meantime thank you for guiding us on the proper appellations for types in Swedish service. If you don't mind I'd like to share that information during the Scandinvian GB.

The J 21 is available to buy from Pilot Replicas home page (in limited numbers). Along with a few other detail sets.

Thank you sir. Not a cheap kit but it looks good value. Hopefully they still have stock once pay-day arrives
