Misrule
Picked up two of the dainty ships including the flagship myself, only just started with them but lot of detail for something so small And some of the old, old ships built many moons ago... Including my cat damaged Andromeda with her nemesis
Will Vale
Great collection. Your Domelaze looks really nice, better then other's I've seen. Maybe it's the very flat paint and the low-contrast scheme? Will
Misrule
Appreciated I'm trying to decide whether to lightly sand the paint smooth, or leave it a rough texture. Smooth is closer to the original ship but the roughness makes it look like cast armour and breaks up the just sheer amount of grey But glad it turned out nicely, its a lot of plastic

SH2199
Hey I just checked and it is six days until Voyage of Recollection is released. You can apparently pre-order a Blu-Ray copy of it now as well. http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Space-Battleship-Yamato-2199-Voyage-of-Recollection-Blu-ray/105132/
Misrule
Still waiting for the full series boxset And the Andromeda never stops looking awesome Though a bit out of scale with that Frigate Edited November 15, 2014 by Misrule
Madhatter
I am really digging your Domelaze Jim - very cool. I got a decent bonus from work so I went to buy one yesterday but it was sold already. Never mind, next time. I looked at that ourstarblazers site and someone's already done the Darold in splinter. Looks great but its too clean for my taste
Misrule
Cheers And I agree, that battle carrier needs a bit of wear and tear to bring it to life. Quite a stand out scheme though, eyecatching. Camouflage apparently not a big thing in this series
SH2199
I am so jealous Misrule ha ha! I hope to get a Domelaze of my own this Christmas (can't guarantee it though lol) and I intend to paint it blue and make it into the Deusla I. It would go nicely with my Deusla II Corship Model. Misrule
It needs a big shelf Still need to do the detail paint work and decals, I saw the film 'Fury' and now I have an assortment of Shermans distracting me
SH2199
I saw Fury as well. Loved that Tiger ha ha ha! It cam from the Bovington Tank Museum in the UK apparently too. Also, I figured that it would need a whole shelf ha ha ha, or maybe its own room lol!

Misrule
New kit due this week, the new badguy carrier from the new film. Not as good looking as the Gamilas ones I think, but still quite an original and interesting design. Probably end up picking one up and some escorts in the future

Madhatter
oohhh I am soo looking forward to this release. Can't say the same for the new enemy ships though. I am definately not a fan. like you, I much prefer the Garmilla ships. Speaking of which, I'm about to go down to the LHS in the city and go buy the Domelaze (if it's still there). Now, where will I display it.....? BTW Jim, are you in for the Sci-Fi GB next year? I think for that I'll build the core ship - you only get 4 months to build, so I have to look for something small.....
Madhatter
I just bought the Domelaze! Yay! That was $180 well spent I hope I pick it up when I get back from NZ in early Jan. Might be a while before I start it though has I have no where to display it yet. I wonder if, in the new movie, they change the paint scheme like they did for the Darold and give it a German-ish splinter look? That would be cool! Looks like I'll have to restock on styrene strip too...
Will Vale
Nice score. You're coming to NZ? If you're in Wellington let me know, we could go for a drink or similar. W
Madhatter
Mate, I'd love to, but I'll be in Nelson, otherwise I would. Maybe Next time though. I haven't been to Wellington in ages. It must have changed heaps since 2003!
Will Vale
A fair bit, I guess - we got here in 2004 (although I first visited in 2001) and there's plenty that's different! I think I'm going to try and make the pilgrimage to Melbourne for Model Expo this year.
Madhatter
Well, if you do, please do let me know and we can catch up. If you need a place to crash, we have a spare room too. I can't wait for Expo next year. From what I've heard, there will be a good spread. I'm entering my 52 and maybe something else if I get it finished. Where do you originally hail from? Misrule
Best of luck with the Dreadnought mate, it's a hell of a blank canvas for a master like yourself I might take a crack at a splinter camo Battlecarrier from the new film, might just be my favourite design from the series
Madhatter
Do you mean a splintered Darold? I reckon you should. I would have if I'd known about it then . For the Balgray, I'm thinking I might do one like that Jaanese guy did that you linked a couple of pages ago. I haven't stopped liking that since I first saw it. When it comes time to do the Domelaze, I may do the red one. Maybe. I don't know. So, you going to join in the scifi group build? I've never done one before so it'll be an experience. My entry will most likely be the core ship. It's just a shame it only came in one colour. But it is scifi, so I can do what I like
Misrule
Never had a go at a group build either so new experience for me too Looks fun though, good incentive to try something a bit ambitious and different I do like the Battlecarrier a lot, and I've done one before so no surprises. Maybe a couple of destroyer escorts too, make a scene of it
Madhatter
Yeah, I'm kind of regretting doing that base for the Darold. Should've done a simple base like for the Shangrila but at the time, I didn't think I'd do anymore 2199 ships. I say that because it would make it harder to do a fleet shot. I really should make that trip transported that came with the battleship set. It's in the same scale right? Not like the drone.
