Phantom726
I just love the profiles with the open canopy hinged at the aft. At least the instructions seem to show the correct way to display itopen.

I doubt very much I'll be able to resist using those canard decals either...

flarpen
Still wondering why KittyHawk insist on showing the Gripen NG markings on a Gripen B/D drawing. The differences are vast Well that just shows the the level of resears is made. They generally get the plastic parts quite good, but when it comes down to markings they totally mess up. Here you get a Swedish plane that out of the box you can not build with the provided Swedish markings, they did the same on the A/C kit. And why they insist on putting JAS 39B/D on the box is beyond me, you can only make a JAS 39D without major modifications to the kit.

I think it gives a certain Swedish decal producer an opportunity to make some more of his wonderful decals
EagleOnyx
Yay! Been wanting a Thai 100th scheme to be released. I am also excited that they have the Thai bird in this kit! I was disappointed that the single seat version didn't have Royal Thai Air force markings included. I have found an aftermarket sheet that contains the markings for the Thai Gripen that I've seen in person, but it costs almost as much as the kit itself! I can't see myself paying $37USD plus shipping for a small decal of a shark and a couple tiny flags and roundels. I've over paid for lots of things in my life but... These are the decals I'm talking about http://www.gdkits.com/4-publications-mkd48012-saab-jas-39-gripen-cm-with-1_48-decals-p-21416.html?language=en

Viper15
Has anybody built one of these yet? I'm about to order one along with a Kitty Hawk Jaguar T2/T4, just wondering if that is wise or not? I've never bought from this manufacturer before..
flarpen
Has anybody built one of these yet? I'm about to order one along with a Kitty Hawk Jaguar T2/T4, just wondering if that is wise or not? I've never bought from this manufacturer before.. Well I have just completed the single seater version of this kit, and with some basic modeling skills it can be made into a rather good representation of the real thing. Sure, the kit has a few week points but nothing that can't be overcomed. The worst points I think are the fit of the cockpit to fuselage joint, the lack of intake trunking and that the stores included can't really be used for the gripen. Also if you want to build a Swedish aircraft the decals included can't be used as they are for the 39-7 gripen demo aircraft that is nothing like a JAS 39D. And despite what it says on the box, a JAS 39B can't be built from the box without some rather big modifications to the plastic. my completed build can be found here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234976427-saab-jas-39c-gripen-148-kitty-hawk/ /Johan
