Admiral Puff
My research suggests that the pre-war undercarriage was replaced on the C-47 production line with one that was both easier to make and stronger. There are detail differences, but as far as I've been able to determine they're not easily discerned in 1:72. This comment must be subject to the caveat that I haven't been able, so far at least, to track down a detailed drawing of the pre-war undercarriage. If anyone can point me towards one I'd be eternally grateful! Tony, I can probably help you with the props. Like most post-war C-47 variants the R4D-5 was fitted with the paddle-bladed type. The new Airfix kit comes with both, and I have at least one set left over from a build which used the narrow-bladed ones. I'll pm you later today when I've had a chance to dive into the spares collection.
