Finally got a chance to start this in earnest, was scheduled to do it last year in the Le Mans group build but life got in the way.Kit is Tamiya's 787b in Renown colours with Scale Motorsport composite fibre decals and PE and Studio 27 PE.

Couple pics of the engine,

Had a bit of a 'phaff' with the composite fibre decals, first time using something like this but it looks ok ish, missed a few bits where the decal torn whilst trying to cut round the 'throttle pullies'.

Still wet from the Mr Mark Softer

Another first for me was making some PE parts, these are two throttle pullies.

Fitted the pullies along with the coil packs fitted, then onto the rotors

Throttle body added

Rear suspension added, part completed, haven't a clue where the sink plungers go ;)

After all that I needed a drink.........................or two :)

They're used for clearing the optional sink - but that only fits if they didn't install the drinks fridge option. Looks as if you'd be a chap to go for the drinks fridge :whistle:

This will be nice, the car is awesome and the build looks promising. I have this project tucked in my stash too, both LMM and Tamiya, so it's double interesting.

Thanks,I'm hoping it'll turn out nice

Definitely the drinks fidge option

nice start! i couldn't find the 787b Renown livery kit, so i settled for the factory color scheme version and picked up the MSM creations decal sheet from hiroboy. It will probably be my next build

Cheers, had to get this kit from the states but worth it :)

Made a few mistakes with the decals, especially the blue 'Renown' decals, they should have a white background to them, only noticed this after applying 2,so there was no going back at that point! Also I touched the side after using Mr Mark Softer, decal just went to mush, lesson learned!

Got a ScaleMotorsports sticky base for it,just need to make a base from some acrylic etc

Superb job, first rate. Quite a golden age of Endurance Racing, and a very decent driver line up IMHO.

Many, many thanks for the comments guys, really appreciate them  and yes vicarage Vee,totally agree. If you haven't heard the 787b rotary engine in earnest then here's a little sample:
