Hiya Folks,

Here is my finished 1/72nd scale model, using the Fly kit to depict a Whitley Mk.V, N1426, GE-O of 58 Sqn. based at RAF Linton on Ouse during June 1940. This aircraft later served with 19 OTU and crashed during a cross country training sortie during July 1941; DSCF1870_zps80303b24.jpg

Edit; I`ve stuck the top left propeller back on the right way around, having stuck it on the wrong way around when it was knocked off just prior to finishing the model,.....cheers for noticing Chris!;

The model is dedicated to the memory of the 24 year old recently commissioned rear gunner Pilot Officer Arthur `Artie' Shaw who died a few hours after crash landing in this Halifax after suffering a fractured skull and he was buried on the 28th April 1944 at St. Anne-in-the-Grove Churchyard, Southowram near Halifax in West Yorkshire (Sec. 1884. Row G. Grave 43). It was he who took the above photo.

Cheers

Tony

Here is my third bomber model built for this Bomber Command Group Build, it is the 1/72nd Academy Ventura Mk.II built as AE854, SB-J `Joybelle' of 464 Sqn RAAF, one of the 2 Group Ventura units. I went o town on it by using Aero Line resin engine nacelles plus a Pavla resin interior and tailplane while the mid upper turret came from a Revell Halifax and the canopy is a vacuformed Falcon item.

The full build can be found here;
