plasmahal
Hi,[/size]So I have started applying decals for my second d-day build.I'm using the kit decals from Academy and micro set and sol.The outside of the decal goes down nicely but the more central areas and majority of decal do not go down to give that painted on look.I hope you can see from this photo:The edges, including some of the blue have gone down well but the rest is not really sucking down.Is this due to thickness of decal? Why has edge gone down OK?Is there anything I can do?ThanksToby. robvulcan
Weird !, I would remove the decal and get some of the excellent Fantasyprintshop decals. I often replace kit roundels with theirs http://www.fantasyprintshop.co.uk/USA-Stars-and-Bars_B223LJW.aspx

charley420
Could ther be air trapped under the center? Try pricking it then apply more so until it wrinkles then use a hairdryer on low heat to evaporate the liquid out from underneath.
plasmahal
It does not seem to be trapped air or any silvering issue. Looking at some of the other decals on the sheet, they have 3 distinct thicknesses. So it seems that its a very thick decal, so i need to look at dealing with that as there are no silvering issues.
