tonyot
Hiya Folks, Here is one that I`ve been meaning to build for years and I`ve finally finished it off! It is the MPM/Special Hobby Stinson L-1 Vigilant wearing the markings of the RAF`s Desert Air Force Communications Squadron based in Italy during 1944-45. This unit also operated at least one captured Fiesler Storch! The markings came from the spares box and it was brush painted using Polly Scale acrylic Dark Earth and Dark Green with Finnish Light Blue representing the light coloured undersides. Here it is,...hope you like it; [/url] I`ve added some more pics here after the model was weathered; Cheers for now, Tony Edited September 2, 2014 by tonyot
stevehnz
Brilliant Tony, didn't notice the lack of weathering, too busy just ENJOYING the plane. I really like these, I've got this kit too though thought to do a CBI jobbie, seeing yours though, hmmm, maybe not. What is your reference book there? Steve. tonyot
Cheers Steve, Glad you like it,.....the book is `Air Arsenal North America' which is a great reference about aircraft bought from the USA & Canada plus Lend Lease too, Cheers Tony

Dave Fleming
Very nice, there is a good pic in Butler's 'War prizes' showing it parked next to the Storch (Same puic as top right in Air Arsenal, but the full frame!). Storch looks like it's in Desert colours
tonyot
Cheers Folks, Here are a few pics of a real L-1 at Kermit Weeks Fantasy of Flight in Florida which I`d forgotten I had, taken while it was being restored; It is now airworthy but unfortunately Mr. Weeks has decided to close down his museum to the general public,...what a great shame!
