RichardPrice
Are we sure this is a new tool? Looks like a refresh of an earlier mold to me, with some new parts. Much of the joins are the same, with potentially the same issues.

cardiff guy
remember this is a test shot , lets hope the production batch is better . I've waited a long time for this . Glenn

And it is a 'C' model, the Italeri is an 'A'
Cookenbacher
I've been looking forward to this release for a long time. Are those two wing tanks on the sprues? The wing tanks and centerline tanks have very similar shapes. And is that a recce pod of some sort on the main sprue?
sroubos
Hopefully it's the built, because those seams look rather nasty, especially the 'we'll give you a two seater as well' one at the spine.
modelldoc
It's an absolutely new kit. (I know that.) Look at the sprues, you see the future. modelldoc
Robert
I am always perturbed by pictures of test shots builds as they always seem to be slapped together. Surely it would have been better to take a bit more care putting it together (if possible) to show it in a more positive light. As it stands now I will wait until one appears in WiP until I purchase one. Robert
Cookenbacher
It's true, this doesn't seem like a careful build - strange, especially since it is the first example shown to the public. Even the vortex generators are placed vertically rather than at an angle.

sroubos
I'm a bit worried it will be a difficult build with such a complicated fuselage breakdown. Revell did this on the Corsair as well, a lot of inserts and that kit apparently suffers from fit problems as well. The test build seems to support that. I'm still curious about the final product , hope we'll see an independent review soon.

Paul J
Looks very nice. Out comes the wallet again ready for its release. Will they do an NG variant.? And a two seater.
chrisrope
Parts breakdown points to a 2 seater release surely. Front fuselage and cockpit parts grouped on one sprue and 2 seater canopy gated off on the clear sprue. Can't wait for these

I'm still curious about the final product , hope we'll see an independent review soon. This weekend I saw a test-shot and talked to the builder. According to him - and from what I saw, the fit is good. The fit of the front and rear halves is supported by the mail wheel bay, a normal builder will have no problems to get a good fit here.
