Peter W
The second of 2 Spitfires that I've managed to get over the finish line today is the Tamiya Mk.1. Having read the book 'Spitfire' by Brian Lane and already having the Montex mask set for his Spitfire, it was an easy decision on how it was going to be finished. It's a commonly built Spitfire but I wanted to add it to my collection too. Eduard etch and HGW belts were added to the cockpit and, as usual Xtracrylix and Gunze paints were used to add the colour. I also added the Ultracast exhausts to the build. So here it is, Flt. Lt. B.J.E Lane's Spitfire from 19 Sqn, Fowlmere in 1940. As always comments and critique welcome. Spad
I really like that a lot. Those masks really do make a great finish! What colours did you choose for the national insignia? Rick

Spitfire31
Superbly finished Spit, just like the Mk V. Since you're obviously such a stickler for authentic details (no crowbar, drooping elevators, etc.), I have to wonder about those little warts on the top of the wings above the wheel wells – are they supposed to represent the gear down indicators that were thin, flat rods painted red? ;-) Amazing modelling. Kind regards, Joachim

Bjorn
Excellent work! Great paint, the painted markings makes it even more realistic! Just a little question, isn't the antenna wire just a little bit too thick?

NPL
Not bad, not bad at all. A guy who knows his ways with Spitfires. It looks very convincing, I dare say. Grats!
