Mike V
What's wrong with the SW F-16XL nose ? For reference and proper nomenclature; it's not a nose it's a Radome and there's nothing wrong shape wise with the F-16XL radome. This resin replacement radome comes in one piece and does offer the High AOA extended Pitot, but it's not all that accurate. Laurent
This resin replacement radome comes in one piece and does offer the High AOA extended Pitot, but it's not all that accurate. So. Pros: - single part radome - acts as nose weight Cons: - incorrect correction set - need to pay for it - usual intergration problems of resin stuff (gluing, shrinkage) Mmh... SleeperService
There's a sort of parallel thread HERE as well. This is a very dangerous kit BTW, I have one, have realised I have never built an F-16, now can't decide how many I should build Unfortunately the first kit I brought was the Kinetic 48th one
Mike V
Dangerous kit; first time I've heard that; lol So. Pros: - single part radome - acts as nose weight Cons: - incorrect correction set - need to pay for it - usual intergration problems of resin stuff (gluing, shrinkage) Mmh... It looks like the resin nose has some added/exaggerated detail, though they inaccurately scribed in the AOA probe cover smudge outline. That will need to be carefully filled in. The probe is wrong and it doesn't come with the AOA vanes. This is a pitot that would be much better represented in turned brass. For my purposes; this set is not practical or worth it. Thom216
I fully intend on buying this kit - and then getting a Block 52, tandem seat, with avionix spine and conformal tanks and bashing them together into an Airforce 'missile truck!'

Tomppa B
The F-16XL is a beautiful aircraft. I will probably one two-seater. And for other aficionados here is something you can feast on, nearly 500 pages of feasting: https://www.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/atoms/files/elegance_in_flight.pdf
Vingtor
I had plans to cross build the XL1 with a Kinetic F-16B. Now, this conversion project will go down the drain... 😖 Nils
