Rodders,

Nice job there with the Novobox kit !.

I have been following the 'undercarriage leg' saga with some interest. I was in charge of the Supply Squadron at RAF Valley back in the early to mid 1990s and a large percentage of the undercarriage legs in the 'system' were Dark Green or Black because they were either destined for the, much larger, Support Helicopter Force of Wessex or had been robbed from airframes in storage. The 'Yellow' Wessex (Wessei ?) were, of course, all on high readiness in the SAR role too so there was no time for the niceties of re-painting undercarriage legs to match the rest of the airframe until they came in for a major servicing. It definitely pays to research individual Wessex airframes, particularly towards the end of their life. Never managed to get a trip at RAF Valley but flew in them many times with 28 (AC) Sqn in Hong Kong and had a particularly memorable trip in a 72 Sqn machine doing 'evasive stuff' back in the bad old days over Southern Armagh.
