Rodders154
Rodders, You're perfectly right! The HO4S is a straight tail boom! The Box shows a cranked boom The instructions show a cranked boom However, the parts are not cranked Here is the cranked boom from a H-19B I have in my stash As well as no crank the HO4s/H-19A tail boom has a thinner tail boom fin (top) than the H-19B (bottom) I'm not impressed by Italeri, I bought the HO4s on good faith and the box art that it was a later model S-55/Whirlwind/H-19B. John I have the conversion for the Mk9 and that has a cranked tail. with the new floor and different door. I thoroughly recommend the conversion new white metal undercarriage and etch bits as well as decals. Well worth the money. Rodders Rodders
heloman1
Rodders,if you have the ROTORcraft conversion kit then that was mastered by myself and it's al you nee dto make an RN HAR Mk9 (Incorrectly marked HAS Mk9 on the box art, my fault). The new cabin door is needed because the cabin floor was elevated to accommodate the fuel cells due to the fitting of the torpedo bay. The new undercarriage was included as it is different to that of the US pattern. Similarly the cranked boom (with strake alterations) was included as for some reason Italeri saw fit to only release (or it would seem) the straight boom kit inthe UK. I'll gladly answer any queries where I can. Colin @ ROTORcraft

I love the whirlwind and am looking to do a RN EDSG + Sky next Rodders
