cossack52 Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 am looking to build a LE FH18 of this division.does anyone know if any AM producer makes decals for this division?
JackG Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Odd that even in generic decal sets, I can't find one that includes this division. Did find a spray stencil set, which is probably even better, from Alliance Modelworks: http://www.am-works.com/store/lw35020-wwii-german-tactical-symbols-unit-markings-waffenss-p-38.html?osCsid=4nr6g31kohghrq9v9jvakqsts7 You'll find it on the second template, third row near center - two sizes offered. regards, Jack
cossack52 Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 (edited) thankyou;the heads up is very useful to me;being a stencil,i can also add a steyr 1500 and schwimmwaggen to my list,as 2 vehicles the division used, though the "heavy 18's"were horsedrawn right up to the end.though its an area for experts,i think this is the later divisional emblem ,as i think the original unit emlem was the ukrainian hetman's trident Edited July 19, 2014 by cossack52
JackG Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 No problem about the stencil find, they do look handy. ---------------------------------------------- I've no info on this unit, other than what is found on the internet, so which symbol was used first I've no clue. There is this quick find on an axis forum stating, in regards to collar patches, that the lion was used and the trident appeared later, likely when the war ended and a new Ukrainian army was formed. Not sure if from this can be concluded what symbol appeared on their equipment. http://www.feldgrau.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=31403 regards, Jack
cossack52 Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 i have a photo of my dad when he was training at nueuhammer;they have the ss deathshead on their cap,but the lion on their collar patches.
