Cameronian
After having been away from aircraft for many years, the opportunity arose of doing some for developing projects; resulting in these two: The old Airfix RE-8. Rigged with fishing line. It doesn't bear close scrutiny as a decent model of the aircraft but it is only a wargame piece. Revell Fokker E-III, in Turkish service in Mesopotamia. All as before.
tonyot
They are both lovely and the Fokker looks quite sinister in those Black Turkish markings, Cheers Tony
JOCKNEY
I have to agree with Tony, and the timing couldn't be better as I am reading Biggles with my son at the moment ! Cheers Pat

Procopius
What wargame (if I may be so bold as to inquire)?
Gimme Shelter
these look very smart - almost reminds me when I was a kid back in the 70's watching "Wings" and the old BE2c's I like these a lot...
Cameronian
Thanks to everybody for their kind remarks. Both great little builds, very unusual finish on the Fokker not seen that scheme before. Straight off the 'net; apparently a scheme used by a particular German pilot in Mesopotamia in 1916. What wargame (if I may be so bold as to inquire)? Too Fat Lardies' 'If The Lord Spares Us'. Haven't used them yet, became interested in a couple of simpler sets of rules.
MikeW
Magnificent work on the rigging - even if "just" a war game piece. Cheers, Mike
Cameronian
Thanks Mike, you know, I've now come up with a scheme to make that job easy but have no more 'planes on the horizon
