Question on Bristol Blenheim Mk I/IF Turrets

Hi Folks !,

I have recently purchased the excellent new Airfix Bristol Blenheim Mk I/IF kit and have a question on the rear turret. The kit offers two slightly different types but does not elaborate on the difference. The two decal options in the kit appear to indicate using the taller version of the transparency from the kit.

I also bought the Xtradecal sheet for Bristol Blenheims at the same time and a cross reference to the decal placement instructions does not really help me either….All of the RAF/FAA and International options offered on the decal sheet suggest use of the shorter turret, including the Romanian example which would appear to contradict that shown in the Airfix kit ! (though recognizing that a different aircraft from a different squadron is portrayed between the kit and the Xtradecal sheet)…..or is it that the kit options are for a 'deployed' and 'stowed' version of the same turret type ?.

Yes. The turret could be raised/lowered as required.
