vags
I had been meaning to build a model of the Breda 88 aircraft since the first time I saw it in a book some 15 years ago. The picture showed only the front half of the airplane but it was enough for me -I only had to put trust on the Italian “finezza” for the other half and I was proven right! A few years later I got a word from a fellow modeler that there’s been a new release and that was it. A brand new 1/48th scale Breda 88 Warrior Models resin kit laid on my workbench. It took me almost 3 years to build this model but I admit that it could have been completed a lot sooner. The kit was extensively modified and reworked: cockpit, canopy, wheel wells, landing gear, slats, flaps and right engine accessories are scratch-built. There are 150 WIP pics that I might find the time to post in the near future. Anyway I very much enjoyed building it despite the difficulties during the process simply because its fine lines compensated me for each and every one of them. Now I have in my collection a representation of one of the most beautiful aircraft of WW II. I hope you will enjoy the pics. r Edited December 7, 2018 by vags
mhaselden
That is simply STUNNING!!! Always liked the Ba.88 although it rather disproves the rule that "if it looks right, it flies right". The Ba.88 had looks to drool over but performance? Not so much. Thank you for sharing these pics of your amazing modelling skills!
Bordfunker
That is a gorgeous looking build of a beautiful aircraft. The additional detail is stunning, and as for that camo it's wonderful. Karl

Rich G
Amazing build, I can see why you like it, it has nice lines similar to a mosquito or P-51, a plane that looks 'right' as they say. Awesome attention to detail a very worthy competition winner! Rich

pigsty
Deeply lovely work. But if you have to build your own cockpit ... I think perhaps I'll still wait patiently for Special Hobby to scale up their 1/72 Lince.

Vulcanicity
That's an amazing build! Love the scratchbuilt detailed engines and cockpit, and you've done a masterful job on the camo too. I do always love modelling heroic failures, and this is a perfect example of an aircraft which had so much promise but was so dismal in service
