Sweet 1/144 P-51B/C Mustangs "Prisioner of War" x 4

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

This will be a sweet little project (ba-da-boom!) that I will be starting after my failed F-14D from the F-14 STGB. I do have another 12 Mustangs for this GB *IF* I get time, but I seriously doubt it. Anyhow here is the box art.

I love the look on the Neko-chan infront of the prop, classic! Lucky looks like he wants to run a mile but Nasa-chan has him firmly in her grip (yes they have names). Onto the otherside of the box...

Love the relieved look on all of the Neko-chans (I believe they all have different names but I am not too sure what they are... Lucky looks likes hes had a really good fart tho... lol

Just showing this picture because I could and I thought it was very sweet (ba-dum-boom!).

Here we have all of the various decal options, I think I prefer the overall OD Swedish version to the NMF version. I am really looking forward to the Swiss version tho, that just looks soo cool to me. The German one I am really not looking forward to tho, all that yellow... :( I will post some close up shots of them all...

I am not too sure on all of their histories, but I will look them up as and when I get the chance. :) I was half tempted to put the Swiss one into the D-Day GB as it is wearing invasion stripes :P

All of the various decals, that sharkmouth looks epic. :) Love the star inside the Hinomaru, very cool that. :) Onto the shots of the sprues.

And a close up detail of the wheel wells, which I think Speedman has already shown??

Hopefully I can get these started sometime this week, but I still have a few projects I need to finish.

Kind Regards,

Thanks for the interest guys, it is very hard to believe that they are 1/144 scale J├Ârgen. But the detail on them does rival most 1/72 models.

I have made a limited start on these little ones, couldn't get much done as I was waiting for the paint to dry.

As you can see I have literally just slapped the interior green on. Please excuse the Hurricane IIC and the Spitfire Mk1. They are projects that need completeing.

Kind Regards,

Dazz

Thank you for that information, Troy and the offer for the information on the aircraft. I've purchased the book, just cause I have a thing for Swedish aircraft... I dunno... But thank you all the same :)

Sorry for the Spit and Hurricane wellzy and trickyrich... Those two are little scamps and keep turning up everywhere. I'm hoping to keep the production line going as long as I can... Until I get to painting that is :/

Kind Regards

Well, speaking as co-co-host, I think they're perfectly welcome to hang around with your Mustangs, as long as you don't forget which one has "priority"! You ARE making some of those half-scale Mustang homebuilt replicas, right?

Captain Ginger-nutt has spoken, "Arrh!" :pirate:

Of course I am making some of those half scale Mustangs, gingerbob ;)

Well I haven't posted anything up for a while, but I have been working on the Mustangs every now and then. Pictures are to follow.

The whole squad all build up and ready for painting. Typically in my eargerness to get them built I forgot to put the little thing in for the prop to sit on... oh well... Kinda looks likes the pilots have been really sick huh??

Close up of the "Mini-Vomit-Comet".

All primed, this was after the fun I had with the canopies that would not fit. Masking those canopies was SO much fun... I tried parafilm on one, didn't like the fact it was really hard to cut.

Here is the Swiss/Japanese and German versions, all sprayed up with ali paint.

I'm thinking that the Japanese one will be decaled soon-ish, not much paint on it other than the NMF.

Props in all their fun and glory... woohoo!! :)

More to come soon... famous last words ;)

Bob,

For three of them I used a mixture of Tamiya Tape and Maskol (love the smell of dead fish!) the other I have used the parafilm and I will touch it up later on when I un-mask it. The canopy frames are really hard to see at this scale, I would hate to do a Luftwaffe aircraft!!

Kind Regards,

Dazz
